how do?

Here are pictures...I had a horrible weekend, but there were also fun bits and puppehs and kittehs and messin'. The boy is off looking for a flat, and I am trying to get my write on, almost 70,000 words now, so not doing to bad, but resent three days of slacking that I took because I was upset. I am no little victorian lady to be 'upset' by simple things and neglect my work. No sirrah! not I! . Just read 'running in heels' by Anna Maxted, it was the nicest, best written chick lit I've had the pleasure of reading in an age.

However Nothing compares to Emma. Room was AMAZING. Read it now!!! Read it now!!!
Also Passing, by an author I hadn't heard of before, Nella Larsen, was absolutely lovely. She only wrote two other novels, which is a pity, because I could gobble her up like pie.

I am so pleased that book is nice, your copy is all clean and waiting for you at my house....GASP at it's splendour! THRILL at the illustrated bits!! SHIVER at the typos and awkward phrases that made it into the final version (fear of these is the reason I haven't read it yet. Also, there is something a bit masturbatey about reading your own book, once it's all bound and proper. So I will do it on the bus, while leering at someone in a creepy manner- it will be difficult to read AND leer, but I choose my choice. )

book!!

it arrived in the post today, looking all bookish and real. have no camera for to upload photos of it's teal and black glory, but soon!! until then- sexy party!!!
In other news: sisyphus can walk on a leash, Dorothy Whipple's High Wages is REALLY enjoyable, the book about sassy was predictably smug and gushy, Shirley Jackson's Lectures made me want to write a ghost story even more, new book is at 62,000, I was in sligo for the weekend and played pool while drinking gin, the new vintage shop in town looks both expensive and beautiful, the races are over, Diarmuid still has a gun, and I miss you.
