how about it?

was OBSESSED with these in sixth class...thinking about it, hmmmm...
reading Decca Mitford's letters at the moment: here is a bit that made me smile:

' PS i've started making a dress for the baby, i didn't do so while you were hear for fear you might throw up at the sight of the man, its eyes glowing with the gentle light of motherhood, sewing a Tiny Garment'

puppy presents: did someone say kitten?

these are the children of the white cat, who acts like a dog and is very clean, except for her magnificent tail. the white kitten is a mad acrobat. the tabby is staid, with moments of 'give me that i want to eat it' kittehs!!!

puppy overload!!! (coming soon- kittens!!)

the clothes, the clothes the clothes...

I am full of want.

went back home to go to a funeral, and have been trying to work hard at book book. 16,000 words. i'm trying to do 1,000 words a day this week like sarah waters does and so far, so good. I like you and do not like to think of lord morpheus punishing you this way. (I may reread sandman) got the league 1910, so it's waiting for you in galway along with all the other stuff I can give you.) also the government in it's wisdom is axing like all the teaching jobs in the country, and I may have to grow a willy if i want to get to interview. Himself will no doubt try to dissuade me.

what I've been reading...

on a total ghostly/ supernatural kick of late... read the little stranger, the woman in black (bought with €10.00 loyalty card for hodges figgis). then, two books withdrawn from galway library circulation: bitches ride alone and fairy tale. the last two were okay, fairy tale being quite enjoyable, but the thrill of staying up late with a ghost story is something i didn't realise I'd missed as much as i did. the boy is probably in despair as I now go to bed at two, read till five and wake around noon. oh, natural body clock, how I have have missed you...but READ the two ghostly books, so good.

went for a swim yesterday, I'm ridiculously unfit, had to take a break after 10 lengths because I was feeling wobbly. and trinity charged me €6.30 for a swim hat which is not made of gold. I wear it inside out because it's got a big trinity logo on it and I'm a catholic, and not a landlord.

to scratch, to wash, to read...

i have many trying responsibilities

things I bought and did today...

book: second star to the right (thrifted €1)

Dress: black and white polka dot halterneck with ribbon tie (thrifted €6.50...tried it on first, because that is big money to me now I'm on the social)

book: helpless (thrifted €1.50)

book I found in the winding stair that i had been wanting for aaages: tea with Mr. Rochester (€5.00...but old penguin edition)

book I almost bought there too: the woman in black by susan hill (next dole, my sweet...)

words I wrote: about 300, but I will have to cut about 100 of those because of excess use of the word 'boobs' (children aren't ready for me, I'm too REAL.uh.)

Schools i got rejected by: one, but it was an educate together, so it cuts that bit deeper. C'mon liberals, let me be one of y'all. (although weirdly I got a 68 in my religion exam)

awkward phone calls from college folk: one, this morning. I was all ' it's been three days, I'm over it, bleh.' (but secretly still pissed)

things I cooked: mashed potatoes for the boy, daddy sullivan's special recipe (butter, milk and an egg. also potatoes)

things I cleaned: the disgusting fridge, my 'coloureds'

things I listened to: mark kermode, joyce carol oates reading eudora welty. weirdly annoying voice, which i should have expected. she could cut a bitch, i bet.

things I watched: bntm final (jade was robbed, but it would have been dumb for them to let a recovering anorexic win pre- healthy weight), mad men season two up until episode 11.

things I meant to do: hand in my TEFL course work, go for a swim in trinners pool (I'm a member till october and have never been, due to lazy and a distaste for realising how hairy my legs are in front of a room full of people)

things I spun around my tummy: my trusty hula hoop, admiral roundy round.

oddly similar...

especially once the rape murder is over, there are many parallels. only with parents and chainsaws instead of kids and toys as props in traps. there's a bit where the dad puts goo outside the bad guys door to make them pratfall and everything.

stuff I've been dong..

complaining to people that I was .32% off a two one.
feeling stoopid. Why, you bastards?

reuniting with the guinea men.

making muffins.

watching mad men, dexter and Bram Stoker's Dracula with the boy.

Trying to write.

Reading the house in paris (love)

Sending out 30 c.vs to cavan, clare, kildare and wherever else children are being taught by people who aren't good enough to work in the places they really want.

ordering the new league off play.com (cheap!)

Being yelled at by college folk.

Being sympathised with by college folk.

listening to michael jackson.
